The Master Barber of Berlin | Documentary | by Stefan Kauertz
Hussein Seif had a dream: setting up a classy, old school gentlemen’s barbershop. A place that doesn’t just offer ordinary shaves, but stylishly immerses visitors in a complete full-service experience.
Not an obvious business idea for a first-generation Palestinian immigrant living in Neukölln, at the heart of Berlin’s vast Arab community.
Nevertheless, Hussein managed to turn his vision into a massive success with both local and international customers.
This film follows him on the next phase of his life path, a quest to fulfill a new ambition – based on his belief that identity shouldn’t be determined solely by cultural background.
